Another video I made based on the first "Mini-Story" from
@LingQ_Central. In this one I ask many more questions after each sentence in the story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGPaNn5VLcY … Most of the words are accompanied by visuals to help make it comprehensible to English beginners.@lingosteve -
Teaching beginners Swedish, in Swedish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wu50L4N9fVA … Incredible they haven't done any other videos like this after over five years, given the response. Also incredible there doesn't seem to be content like this even for many languages with tens of millions of speakers.

Another video I made for the first "Mini-Story" from
@LingQ_Central. In this one I retell the story and explain the English vocabulary that it uses in English using the pictures, pointing, gestures, actions, and lots of repetition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBgQMlF2v-o …#ComprehensibleInput -
Watch my new video to find out what I did on Friday the 13th: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieFNAWOsESg … I talk about my day using drawings, pictures, and lots of repetition so that beginner and intermediate English learners can understand.

I made a video for the first of the LingQ Mini-Stories with visuals to go with most of the words. The idea is that English beginners can easily understand it and start to pick up words & structures just by watching & listening: https://youtube.com/watch?v=v_qPuX9G8uw …

A very simple English video for beginner ESL learners. Even total English beginners should start to pick up some words and grammar from watching it, no matter what their first language is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKA0fDqgiG8 … Subscribe for more!

My latest comprehensible input video for beginning English learners: https://youtube.com/watch?v=sTz28jZqxx0 … I describe a series of illustrations of everyday things in detail, using pointing, gestures, pictures, and many circling questions.

An alternative would be for students to hear L2 CI from teachers etc. & just respond using L1 at first. Not much research yet but it's been tried with apparently good results, e.g. Tan-Gau method, which reportedly avoided the problems French immersion students have with accuracy:pic.twitter.com/9UNE7kdy07

My latest
#comprehensibleinput video for ESL beginners: I talk about and play the popular new video game#UntitledGooseGame and describe what's happening, then review what happened in the game, using easy English and lots of repetition:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpRsuyXor6I … -
I use circling questions a lot in this video where I retell a simple story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFW3IPfEMiM … but maybe I can try to use that technique more in other videos too. Again if there are any topics you or your students would like to see please let me know! Great to hear from you!

I had to go halfway around the world to find a course that taught this way: the
@auathai Program, which gives adults the chance to just pick up Thai by listening using pictures, gestures, props, experiences, etc. to make the language understandable.https://youtu.be/y4jJFZz7XPo -
Creating more comprehensible input while getting comprehensible input! I zoom in on and point to parts of a set of illustrations as they're discussed in an audio that describes them in Khmer, then post the screen recording to YouTube so others can benefit:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTSwDavjiSo …

@ajhoge I've started making videos where I ask stories using drawings etc. to make them understandable to English learners who are total beginners, inspired by ALG, TPRS, & your Mini-Stories. Do you know any groups of English learners who'd be interested?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFW3IPfEMiM … -
In some of the videos I tell stories where I ask many questions about what I've just said. This gives learners lots of meaningful repetition, exposure to different forms, & opportunities to practice speaking English on their own by answering the questions:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFW3IPfEMiM …

Sounds wonderful! I wonder if he or any of them would be interested in teaching Arabic using CI and ALG. Perhaps you could show them Jeff Brown's video where he acquires Egyptian Arabic?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=illApgaLgGA …

I made an explainer video about the ALG approach for those who aren't familiar with it:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yW8M4Js4UBA …

Great video on how to acquire (pick up) a language starting from scratch with tutors or language exchange partners: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=illApgaLgGA … Here's my summary of the method and recommendations:https://beyondlanguagelearning.com/2019/06/17/how-to-acquire-a-language-with-tutors-and-language-exchanges-and-speak-it-like-a-native-speaker …
