Re @hknightsf's great story: why do criminal justice loopholes only open the Tenderloin and parts of SOMA to open drug dealing and not other neighborhoods? http://bit.ly/2IGkEVV  @TLCBD @UCHastingsLaw

I've been wondering this too. Clearly there would be a real response if these dealers were packed at, say, 24th and Noe.

.@chesaboudin would never accept open drug dealing in his own far more prosperous Bernal Heights neighborhood.

I think it's because residents are involved in the drug dealing business, just like bars were. There's a vacuum.

Wrong. 99% of arrested dealers live outside SF.

I'm sure it's a high number but, NO. I lived in a nice area of SF and we had a dealer one floor down. Residents have to work with police. Tenant moved away after a new owner took over. Organize with your fellow tenants, carefully.

Your key word is "arrested" dealers. Also, I think your numbers are off. The Tenderloin has long been a place to buy drugs and all kinds of illicit things. Bar tenders are known for dealing. Funny how they don't seem to make it into the numbers.
