Guy Eisnor was a local D-Day veteran. I was lucky to spend time and play cribbage with him after a D-Day event last year, and then had the honour of recognizing his service in the House of Commons. Mr. Eisnor passed away on Remembrance Day this year.

Some thoughts about the rising cost of food in : “Charitable handouts can’t hope to be an adequate response to the tsunami of need. This is because food insecurity is not about a lack of food. It is about a lack of income.”

    - The first dose of Covid-19 vaccine has just been administered in Ontario to Anita Quidangen, a personal support worker. Anita has been working at the Rekai Centre since 1988. She worked tirelessly throughout the COVID-19 outbreak, oftentimes doing double shifts.

As elected representatives, we all need to use our platforms to emphasize the science and to build trust in our communities for the vaccination process. I hope this op-ed in our local helps towards those goals.

The absence of a carbon tax is a market failure that works as a redistribution from low GHG emitters to high GHG emitters.

Nice recognition from for my animal advocacy in parliament. We’ve made progress since 2015, including laws to address animal abuse, the shark fin trade, and cetaceans in captivity. But there’s much more to be done, and I’ll keep working at it.

I should add that the Conservatives also know the proposed incremental annual increase of $15/tonne will kick in after 2022. I hope the eventual Conservative climate plan is more serious than this, and isn’t just a few sentences in all caps.

Carbon pricing works. MPs know that the funds generated are almost all returned to people directly via a tax credit. Independent analysis has shown most Canadians receive more than they pay. And here’s the considered response from the Conservative Party of Canada:

I didn't think I'd be typing "bold move" or "serious and well-thought out plan" today, but here we are (though of course I still have some suggestions for improvement). Now to deal with the inevitable backlash from oil lobby and its allies...

Personally, I'm very forgiving of ur spelling but less so of the shoddy journalism in reporting the details of Canada's climate plan. The tax & dividend approach is the "gold standard" of pricing policies & Canada should b praised 4 this innovative approach-thank u

Modeling of the federal climate plan indicates a 31% reduction below 2005 levels by 2030. Officials say that’s likely conservative. Why? For starters, it presumes no new or stronger provincial/territorial efforts in the next decade. 1/

Great article:"...why [is it] such a big deal that two MPs chose to vote their conscience on a difficult issue. Why has our parl system become one of the most rigidly partisan in the world? What has tiled our politics so far in the direction of conformity?"
