Responding to a lot of the hype and fear that gets peddled about immigrants these days, a farmer in Dawson county said that he’s been asking his friends in Lamesa: “have you had a job taken by an immigrant? Your kids? A cousin? Anyone you know?” Answer is always no.

In rural conservative Booker, many talked about immigration, dismayed by news that recent grad of Booker high deported. Knew they’d lost out on his potential, what he would do for Booker. Worried about what becomes of him in a country whose language he doesnt speak, w/out family.
