Now come on, be honest, all this sudden concern about plastic really coming because of the EU? Yes that EU regulation to ban plastic bags was a really good. British Government trying to claim kudos very feeble.https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2018/jan/16/eu-declares-war-on-plastic-waste-2030 …

Great. But much better if shops do not offer these things. Legislation may be required...
-
Not just shops. I speak as a greengrocer many things including imports still come wrapped up when they don’t need to be. I do think industry may need a financial nudge to make the change. That said domestic suppliers I work with are listening and we are seeing reduced plastics
-
Tories don’t regulate or legislate for commerce, only people. The economy must be left to its own devices but people cannot be trusted!!!

Why make it the responsibility of the consumer and not the producer? Unless of course producers pay into Tory election coffers#?

Could you please stop lying on the radio? Claiming the imposition of tariffs by the EU would be perverse when you know full well the EU will be obliged to impose tariffs by the WTO, in the event of our leaving the SM makes you a liar.

Perhaps you could have a word with Tendring DC who will only allow residents to recycle no plastic apart from plastic bottles. Not that you'd know living in Hatfield Peverel.

When I was Hospital visiting had a cup of tea. I asked for a paper cup, said you live longer, which caused a laugh. Point is we don’t want to sort out one problem to cause others. Hygiene very important.
