Yes, they are individuals. They don't speak for everyone who votes the same way as them. What part of democracy don't YOU understand? Also, you might want to look at what ELSE George Osborne said..., cherry pick much?pic.twitter.com/o5xoYZSlcW
Don't move the goalposts, your initial point was re one side said about single market. As it happens, although I voted for Brexit, I think EEA is the right end point. However, the leaders of both Leave and Remain said throughout referendum that voting to Leave = leaving EEA.
No, Bernard said both sides. I made it clear that people on one side were not all behind that and made it clear what would happen if there was a vote to Leave. People can't suddenly shout "democracy!". Here is one of the sides saying we'd be leaving the EEA. Listen closely.pic.twitter.com/qxTYa08e8A
Correct me if I'm wrong but GO is saying that after leaving EU, we would be "begging to be back in the single mkt", implying that a vote to leave = leaving single mkt. /1
Yes, regardless of whether or not we want to be in the Single Market, the actual act of leaving membership of the EU means we leave it (or that is the common understanding)pic.twitter.com/Z2U913dszg
Then it's a matter of "negotiating our way back in".pic.twitter.com/hFyC0cIXRG
No one knew what they were voting for and here we are a year into "negotiations" and still no-one knows what the plan is. It's a shambles and you are a huge part of it. Your only motivation is personal, yet you're supposed to be a servant of the people. #Election2018 #stopbrexit
Did they? I dont recall the referendum question being that specific? and I know a lot of people who would disagree with that assessment @MikeGapes MP
The man that called the referendum & led the remain argument was very specific about SM m’ship. If you followed the campaign you’d be left in no doubt that leave = out of SM/CU.https://www.politico.eu/article/david-cameron-bbc-andrew-marr-ill-pull-uk-out-of-the-single-market-after-brexit-eu-referendum-vote-june-23-consequences-news/ …
using Cameron to clarify the leave position seems a little...... errr... strange what did the leave campaigners say:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xGt3QmRSZY …
Nice try ... that Open Britain was ripped apart by @afneil as you well know. Watch ...https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_9dKcjfeVTs …
Bernard, would you remind me what the referendum question was? And why is it that the result means whatever the particular person explaining it says it means?
