I remember years ago Tory Peter Temple Morris standing on Westminster Green belittling anyone suggesting Maastricht would be a gross handover of sovereignty.I swore at the TV. This present debacle is so reminiscent, the Agreement spun as the best #brexit we can get.

We could leave. It would be easy, we just walk away. The EU is all ready for that option. But unfortunately the UK isn't, and it won't happen as it would be very, very damaging to the UK and parliament won't agree to it.

The EU are doing everything in their power to keep us in, a you'd know if you read widely, used your eyes, and took a balanced view
-
Oh dear. You've got this so wrong. Of course the EU would like us to remain but they have explained quite clearly that they will not compromise the 4 freedoms or break the law, and they've just stuck to that position throughout. Stop blaming EU.
-
They're tough negotiators in this sort of setting, everyone knows that. They have 2 aims: punish us (to discourage others) and keep us in CU & SM if they can by exploiting May's self-inflicted political weakness. Minus our vetoes would be even better.
-
No. Not "punish" us. Just not give us the same rights when we are out as we would have when we were in. Logical? Yes.
-
Nothing to do with it. Here's the lovely Verhofstadt demanding more power. Remind you of anyone? https://twitter.com/SocialM85897394/status/1063771577366573056 …

I see the man who didn't volunteer his services to the Brexit Negotiation Team is now moaning about the ones who did have messed it up. Meanwhile your constituents have had enough of your increasingly eccentric ramblings. Time to retire & live off those expenses you fiddled.

Not really, we were told the EEC would develop and deepen over time. The aim was to bring the peoples of Europe together after two catastrophic wars.

Good job
@NATO kept the peace then. -
And 28 nations working together on common interests, doesn't keep the peace then?

-
185 nations in
@UN were created long before. Yet undermined by rather spending tax payers incomes for an ideology that is in place prior. Double dipping tax payers for same is indefencable. Just my thought that global is bigger than the 27.

A catastrophe is having to use a food bank week in and week out because the government supposed to help the vulnerable washes their collective hands of them.
-
If we leave the EU it will damage most, those least able to afford it.
-
As things seem to go from bad to worse week in, week out they probably won't notice

Biggest failure. Each treaty should have had a referendum to keep public engaged each time. The party that delivers this in future will be reaching to the public to hafe a say on the destiny of the nation.
