Britain is dangerously naive about the threat posed by China’s rise. Excellent commentary by Juliet Samuel.https://digitaledition.telegraph.co.uk/editions/edition_a4l6G_2018-11-03/data/569583/index.html?share=1&WT.mc_id=tmgapp_inar_share&utm_source=tmgapp&utm_medium=inar&utm_content=share&utm_campaign=tmgapp_inar_share&Expires=1543622400&Signature=W3R99Lvc0YviZXteMGKP-mme0GLV84FmcSkgZks0UaAE3pTcrW9yLjAl~cTBT5896FCCt3slqer9rBnXxGzo~Bs4DUhJxN6P~RixbtfhRqtXLyrMzFNskW9W0Gg-3sS6DIP2VdLcXz~u0VMEohAw6jZ7fHMkI3PwGkq53OZp7aw84-8j~BuKZiBAtA6ziYkPFkYUBTWQCfYbk1KLnPvrVD5~G~LBJ6Us~o8cILxyESlj6-vctlgKi7RX6CP~7d2CMAHZ~zrxo7eKWAALmwPMRCs~m0chR~xKu0ekHai0XrMdtBrqa69qWcSCHXy4Q2sjO6uMxQZqADxrpjGugI0btw__&Key-Pair-Id=APKAJLCEPDGCTPVKXNOA …

Maybe we should try and form a close trading and economic alliance with countries that share our values - ideally, developed nations that have advanced economies and a track record of promoting human rights that are near to us. Which countries? Let me see.... oh....

No that is one part of the EU. You should do soon research. I would suggest Wikipedia is a good place to start or even European commission's own website

It's largely an economic union as you know, but right back in 1975 we were told that it was also a political project. You can't have a SM without a common regulatory framework, which is obviously political.pic.twitter.com/sDj2xOkigw

And foreign, security, agriculture, fisheries, soon to have tax, social policy etc etc etc. It's a political union dedicated to ever closer union as set out in 'Solemn Declaration on European Union' So your original tweet is wrong.

I am personally very happy with ever closer union. I can't see what's wrong with the idea of a federal Europe. But no further integration is possible without referenda in multiple member nations (inc UK). You support EEA/EFTA membership I presume?

No. I support an FTA and bilateral treaties as applicable. I don't feel the EU represents my outlook either morally or economically. I used to be very Pro but sadly I think it's utterly failed me.

I disagree. Our biggest threat is Parliament not coming clean on EU Military UNIFICATION, the end of HM Armed Services, its industry and politics. What next - the EURO? Speak up Bernard. @STRATEGICDEFENC @paddyashdown @LordTebbit

If one sees how they have infiltrated Africa, by fair means and foul, Australia - though they are more stringent, the Chinese have incredible control, and they are ruthless. The West/Brits haven’t a clue what is going to hit them.

China are sending students to all the top universities in many countries and they are taking back everything they see and do, including research - on an industrial scale

Of course it is, and no I don’t know the solution. But knowledge is dangerous in the hands of some. However I do know British Universities are milking the the higher fees from a large number of Chinese students. Universities are businesses now

Yes China poses a real threat to UK, freedom of navigation, IP, world peace etc because the Communist Party controls all major companies and all export companies. Its philosophy puts the State above the Individual and so State control of anything and everybody is normal practice.
