Really? ONS figures are “correct” when they support your agenda but “wrong and wildly inaccurate” when they say brexit will be bad Hypocritical liars the both of you

Defence Industry Inovation Rights compromised to EU?

EU defence procurement exemptions never permitted gpvernments to sustain technological advantage. World Trade rules (GPA) do allow for that.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Looking at the graphs there is a noticeable downwards turn after 2010 which would suggest that the change in UK government had some effect on the changes. You can't advocate free trade and moan about increasing imports.

Never stopped us selling one plane, one bomb, one bullet to: the Shah, KSA, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Nigeria, Oman, the USA.... - indeed without tank sales to Iran, Challenger 1 + 2 wouldn't have come about. (Pvt venture for the Iranians, cancelled by the Mullahs).

I dont even think it was the EEC/EC that stopped Swan Hunters finally getting the INS Karg moved to Iran c. 1983-1986.

Patrick Minford has pointed out that WTO option will destroy manufacturing in UK. He considers that a price worth paying, as, presumably, do you. But you can't have it both ways.

But doesn't that Minford guy say that Brexit will finish UK manufacturing? That sounds like you are saying 'the EU has not damaged UK manufacturing enough for my liking, so I'm backing Brexit to finish it off for good'.

Membership of the EU has been good for business, manufacturers and citizens. You're getting desperate now. Why not debate with someone who has an open minded pragmatic view of our membership of the EU? Thought not!
-
I live in a dead town with no work and no prospect of work. Please use your open pragmatic mind to explain to me how the Eu is good for Accrington or for that matter the steel workers of Redcar. Thought Not !
-
And that is the fault of the EU? I don't think so. That is the fault of the government and business who fail to invest in communities. UK steel prices are undercut by the Chinese not the EU.
-
See thats the issue with the Eu nothings ever their fault is it. 350 million a week for no responsibility. Just get out and save the money !
-
Merkel saying today Uk not made its position clear. Utter rubbish the woman is blinded by her own fundamentalism. We need free trade with someone principled like Trump
-
You're saying the UK's position *is* clear then? The Chequers proposal is undeliverable and most of the country doesn't want it anyway. The Brexit ultras' proposal doesn't have Government backing, neither does any other. Some clarity.

Too many middle class, Tory voters have been buying German cars since the late 90's as a status symbol. We have also had a steady decline in manufacturing and therefore products to export which has more to do with UK govt and mgt than the EU. Loony!
