Bernard Jenkin Retweeted People's Vote UK

Worth reminding what Remain campaigners said before the referendum. But there can be no 2nd referendum without government support and new legislation. So it is a dead duck.https://twitter.com/peoplesvote_uk/status/740127469735415808 …

People's vote is a Scam, we had peoples vote in 2016,we had the renegotiations pre Ref ,that's why we had a ref in 1st place for FINAL say. Choice on the ballot was Remain on Cameron's deal or Leave, We voted LEAVE, how many renegotiations & votes would you like? @peoplesvote_ukpic.twitter.com/xMWrqycWLW

Could you explain exactly how voting on the specific #Brexit arrangements - having taken over 2 yrs to confirm what they are - is a “second” referendum? It isn’t a re-run, it’s a completely new question. Is the British people’s will no longer trusted Bernard? 🤔 #brexitshambles

He’s my MP - he’s happy enough to tweet nonsense but not so hot on responding. Ever. I assume he’s got his head either in the sand (like the other #Brexit ostriches) or up @Jacob_Rees_Mogg ‘s arse 😂🤷‍♀️

Democracy can only change its mind once a democratic vote has been implemented as in 1975. Trying to overturn a democratic vote BEFORE it's been implemented is not Democracy it is Fascism.pic.twitter.com/FzYPES7E8T

They have a relatively small number of signatures anyway, it’s all futile hot air propaganda when you consider 33,551,983 “People “ voted on the 23 June 2016. Who do they think they are😂?

So if we have a 2nd referendum & the result is just to remain. Brexiters could claim it wasn't a people's vote & therefore we need to have a 3rd referendum as a people's vote ad infinitum ! Reality =pic.twitter.com/RJpJHin88y

Yes Bernard. and so many people must be sick and tired of hearing them talk about running the referendum again when is is not going to happen. There is nothing obscure about voting leave or stay and Cameron did have the courage to say so -pity he did not stay to finish the job.

And all the things remain said which failed to materialise. That’s politics. It’s our job as voters to cut through the bullshit. I would imagine most voters had already made their mind up before the campaign even started.

Nothing has changed. Lots of misinformation still flying about. The only way we will truly know is if we try. Problem is too much infighting has scuppered any meaningful progress on Brexit, leading us to the mess we are in.
