EU appears utterly determined to close every option for the UK to leave the EU in substance rather than just as a legal technicality; to prove that no country can ever truly leave. The UK cannot simply succumb to this determination to hold our nation prisoner.https://twitter.com/nick_gutteridge/status/1019956255341850624 …

Britain will join the EU's Common Transit Convention even if it leaves without an agreement according to Selmayr no deal doc. This is used for the movement of goods between the EU28, Efta 4, Turkey, FYROM and Serbia. Would mean UK adopting the Union Customs Code. pic.twitter.com/V8S3EVMSN8

Of course they aren’t going to make it easy, Bernard. The EU won’t allow anyone to leave. A lot of time could have been saved by working towards WTO from the outset. This farce makes me wonder if we’re even fit to govern ourselves. I’d say probably not.

The UK voted to Leave the EU. It did NOT vote to make compromises with the EU as some think we should do. We can make deals after we’ve left that are mutually beneficial to both UK & EU.

You really are a sad little man needing to scapegoat the EU for everything. How about you think about the poorest people you are going to shaft with your deluded fantasies. You are rich, overclaim parliamentary expenses, and you don't care about ordinary people. #ToriesOut

The WTO option is looking very, very attractive at this time. The Remainers don't want us to go there and neither do the EU bureaucracy - it must therefore be the best option for the UK

‘The EU & Remainers don’t want us to go there, so must therefore be best option for UK’. That’s your reasoning, ‘others who I don’t agree with don’t like it, so must be good’ If you’ve got proper facts, evidence & reasoning go ahead and document it here, floor is yours

But the EU has been clear that there are various existing options from FTA to EEA, which offer a range of levels of market access / domestic control. Is it not a matter for the EU to decide what the EU is willing to agree to?

The reason the eu is acting like it is because then know we have a weak PM & she won't break the link, BUT the Tories need to be aware that if they keep may in place 20years of wilderness beckons a poll says a large % would vt for a Brexit party so bye bye Tories Unless may goes

But it looks like arrogance will prevail in the party because they think lab are in trouble & the Tories will walk it, when may betrays & no 48 letters, they will soon see the doorway to a desert, might be a good idea to withdraw the whip from stupid Tory MPs or are there to many
