If the chequers plan precludes an Indian (or any other) trade deal, it must be rejected. That was one of the key points of Brexit.

We would like the freedom to choose, not have the EU breathing down our necks. What’s the point of Brexit if we are still tied to rotten EU rules?

EU meanwhile moving ahead w India deal. Indeed wasn’t it UK objections which blocked it before?

Are you sure about that? Australia and the Quadrilateral seem to be more engaged with India on defence and trade, and the UK can leverage off these regular and ongoing discussions.

Not if Mutti says we can. I know, the EU has been unable to conclude trade deals but......... The price of betrayal will come year after year and in June 2022 the @Conservatives will pay their price.

Tory MPs have a dilemma do they save the party and get rid of may or do they get rid of the party and save may. If they believe the polls they want to come further north and talk to people who once voted for the Tories, but won't again.

I'm no fan of the Chequers' proposals, but this is poppycock. We have a set of standards that foreign companies must meet in order to sell here. A trade deal would remove tariffs. No need to change standards.

France already does more trade with India than we do. India said UK trade deal means more immigrants coming here. Do you ignore the truth or just fail to see it? Either, way you're possibly unfit to be MP. Dogma no substitute for facts.
