“Both sides” Only one side blacklists people and targets livelihoods so that you’re unemployable if you stray from their line. There is no comparison. The bullying, harassment, bigotry and sexism from the interventionists that your outlet has sometimes promoted is unmatched.https://twitter.com/ali_gharib/status/992167907588177922 …

Sure, no matter what you say about Syria, you will piss some ppl off. But let’s not pretend that “both sides” are equally bad. Opposing western intervention and the rebels in Syria opens you up to an unimaginable level of abuse and even worse, almost no one will stand up for you

As for
@MuftahOrg, it has participated at times in that abuse by slandering people like me as islamophobes for criticizing salafism & Al Qaeda. It’s unfortunate that Muftah became a target of the interventionists they have been appeasing, but some introspection would be nice.6 replies 19 retweets 54 likesShow this thread -
I just read the
@MuftahOrg piece that was retracted due to pressure from pro-war trolls. See here http://archive.li/D3EQE It’s a very reasonable piece that calls out western media for ignoring Syrian voices that contradict the western narrative on Syria.3 replies 49 retweets 82 likesShow this thread -
Muftah’s retraction looks absurd. They accuse their writer of promoting “conspiratorial thinking” simply bc he noted that the US, France and UK bombed Syria without evidence that the govt committed the alleged CW attack. Wow. This is sad https://muftah.org/letter-from-the-editor-retracting-an-article-on-media-narratives-about-syria/#.Wu32uZNRWEe …
