As outrageous as the Cambridge Analytica thing is, the fact that more Sanders voters went for Clinton in '16 than Clinton voters went for Obama in '08 suggests that the company's work is...well, not quite as effective as it tells prospective clients.

Sure, but we have no way of measuring how much of that was actually due to its work, and how much of it was due to, say, the Clinton campaign not bothering to campaign in those states

Fact that most voters still rely on TV and print news instead of social media (esp older voters, who're more likely to vote Trump) makes me sceptical about the impact of this. It's more concerning for future, as more depend on soc media + these campaigns get more sophisticated.
