It's a straw-man because I don't see anyone, certainly anyone of any relevance, who is making this case. It's merely virtue signalling. It's futile because to systematically bring this up serves no useful purpose either in opposing Trump's agenda or backing an alternative agenda.

It misses the point because no one serious, no one that matters, on the Left (or to the left of Democrats) disagrees that Trump is worse than Clinton. The criticism is that it's a matter of degree not of nature, and that liberal policies -- be it NAFTA, mass incarceration...
