as a photographer, especially a male photographer, there’s a code of ethics you have to abide by when photographing women/femmes/gender queer people. there’s no rule book but i have a few things i always stick to to avoid creeping people out or creating questionable dynamics.

“Girls in the Windows” is an image of 43 women daringly climbing onto the window sills in a condemned building on East 58th Street in NYC. Taken on a whim by photographer Ormond Gigli in 1960. It took 24 hours to orchestrate. The building came down directly after it was taken.
