My path to infosec: 1) copy games, get infected by virus, learn assembly, reverse engineer it 2) witness Code Red and Nimda, read smashing the stack, fuzz server vulns 3) create blog about vulns, write bad JS, find MSIE vulns 4) report vulns, release sploits, get job offer.

The virus was the Tequila virus, a .com infector. Let me know if you know or are the author! First server vuln was in Seti@home I believe First MSIE vuln was javascript Array sort method integer overflow memory corruption, for which I developed the JS heap spray

I had a lot of help from people on IRC and the private 0-day digest email list back in the day. Let me know if you were on these with me; it's been so long I forgot most names (and people stopped using the aliases I knew them by).
