Hacking a car or an ATM machine is not more complex than hacking a desktop computer. It sounds way cooler, but it's not technically more difficult. They are just computers on wheels/that dispense cash.https://twitter.com/Mantia/status/1013559718759956481 …

Right, all things can be hacked and unfortunately most times is easier than expected. Vendors need to start thinking “secure by default”.

Well then, time to hack a satellite... ;)

Satellites are usually designed for one purpose, heavily audited, and simpler than ATM/car/personal computers (sometimes lacking a "computer") but--yes, yes you can. Plus most old communication satellites use unencrypted/unauthenticated protocols so sniffing/spoofing is easy.

Well, it's easier to get a test-pc than a car or atm only for testing. At the opposite finding vulns in car/atm should be even easier b/c of the same reason (vendors may think they are "safe")

Missed the slash "computers on wheels that dispense cash" is an interesting concept.
