... 50 times while shopping is the day when AR starts to take over, even without any revolutionary use-cases. With the right form-factor It will simply be /that/ useful to unlock the information currently constrained in our smartphones that people will start using it widely.

Easy to dream up big, possibly revolutionary ideas for what AR will enable in the future, but it’s deeply dependent on achieving the right form factor. The day an AR headset can do boring stuff like float my shopping list in front of me so I don’t need to check my smartphone...

Big props to for the comprehensive set of player options built into Windlands 2, for both comfort and performance; a bar that many VR games should strive for. Also, extra special design brownie point for allowing players to choose where the menu will be placed.

When is someone going to make a Splinter Cell Spies vs. Mercs game where it's 2 or 3 VR Spies vs. 6 or 8 non-VR Mercs? This would be amazing.

After a decade of using the iPhone, my next phone purchase very well may be an Android phone.

Been an iPhone user for 10 years. Haven't upgraded since the iPhone SE (2.5 years). Nothing about the new iPhones interests me, save for a better camera and better performance. They don't even make it in the size I want anymore, so to get those things I'd give up something else.

Today in a limited sense we have machine learning algorithms that can improve over time, but I wonder if one day we’ll have general purpose ML processors that can learn to be better and faster over time, down to the machine code level.

Today’s processors could probably achieve something similar, except they’re already so precise at reading and executing code that speed seems to be the only factor for improvement, and that typically requires a hardware upgrade.

To go further down this rabbit hole, the human processor in this case is like a machine learning algorithm, and has the capacity to get better at the task over time, which is interesting because improvements in performance come without upgrading the hardware.

A Beat Saber level can be thought of as a program containing instructions about how someone’s hands should move. The human processes the code optically (and rhythmically?) and executes, but not without errors. Sometimes errors are misread code. Other times output is incorrect.

It was iOS 11 or so where they made it constantly turn back on without user intent, and now users won’t even be able to see clearly when that happens.

Wow, in an effort to make sure people always have the Bluetooth on for beacon tracking and other purposes, after several anti-user steps in this direction, Apple has taken the final step of removing the icon from the status bar that lets users know when it’s turned on.

Why do so many games initially load a ‘Press Start’ type screen, and only then go in to do more loading to get you to the game menu? Why isn’t the menu just loaded in the background, or better yet, skip the start screen completely.
