My recollection is that WL urgently tied themselves to Snowden after he had already flown to Russia, largely to make themselves relevant.

Sorry, but I did ask you a question, and you're choosing to evade rather than respond. That stated, I'm fine pointing out that a token complaint about the Russian government every now and then is pretty hard to read as anything more than the smallest fig leaf of independence.

Ed was not the first to expose the illegal actions of NSA. He was one of the few to have documents to backup his claims which made this a watershed moment. No one would have listened without evidence. He is NOT WikiLeak, he is someone who saw illegal actions threatening democracy
