.@BradSmi Strong words but then why did @Microsoft patch this exploit 2 months ago, only for corp. users paying for expensive XP updates?
-
-
-
If you're not paying for the expensive extended support, you shouldn't be running Windows XP.
-
That's a type of ransomware. Tech companies esp.
@Microsoft fail to provide usable upgrade paths, and much hardware doesn't work past XP. -
If you buy a physical product with a 1-year warranty and it fails at 2nd year, are they holding the spare parts from you under ransom?
-
If Sunbeam disappears, can buy 3rd party parts for yr toaster. Not so for OS security updates. Internet of things may be internet of bricks.
-
so... who chose an OS they can't replace in the first place? weren't open source alternatives available?

All very well for government-“discovered” exploits, but what about when the vendor is forced by the government to embed one?

We need alternative to Microsoft
-
The problem isn't Microsoft, It's companies running unsupported shit. If these places ran a Linux as old as XP there would be higher risks.
