@monkbent I presume you are referring to OS X, right? I always had to go clean up my HD of that stuff every month or so.

@pavanrajam both iOS and OS X -
@monkbent you can pretty easily turn off auto downloads on iOS in Settings, right?pic.twitter.com/ST9s0FyrIO

@pavanrajam but if you purchase in iTunes on the device it starts downloading still (I think)@getwired -

@monkbent If you have iTunes Match (I highly recommend it), it switches to not downloading, with oddly no way to switch back. -
@MacManXcom not in my experience... -
@monkbent Very strange. When I buy something on my MBP now, I have to deal with the annoying second step of pressing the download button. - End of conversation

@monkbent The more space you use on your phone the more likely you are to get larger HD next time & go over free 5GB iCloud limit. -
@_McCroden I doubt it’s so cynical
-
@monkbent You're right. It was most likely driven by consumer's wanting convenience. Auto dl = convenience. But lines up nice w/ Bus model -
@_McCroden I’d say it’s a relic more than anything

@monkbent I don't have that issue in iTunes for Windows. Global setting "don't download"? -
@TheRomit when you purchase something it doesn’t download? You can stop downloads made on other devices, but not same devcie -
@monkbent Ah! Purchases made on the same device, I didn't try. iTunes is only on one machine and I buy/rent on iOS only :-)
