@monkbent Macs have screen size flexibility iOS devices lack, no constraint to simple multiples. Could be almost any size/density.

@tdierks it’s a supply chain argument -
@monkbent there's no deep supply dependence on screen size; the mother glass is cut down to final size relatively late in the process. -
@tdierks but there is on pixel density. That’s the point. I thought the original article laid it out well -
@monkbent It started with the precept that 2x was likely. 12" w/ 2760x1552 or something else with same density just as possible. -
@monkbent Concur that 326 is sweet spot, but Apple doesn't seem to have trouble sourcing displays at any density they want.

@monkbent wouldn't make sense having this and the rumored 12.9" iPad. Too much overlap. -
@monkbent you have 2 devices, essentially the same size / portability, that could essentially do the same jobs as each other. -
@shameermulji there is a much bigger difference between the iPad and MBA than there is between MBA and MBP, yet both are 13″ -
@monkbent I can see a 12" rMBA / iPad working if it was a manifestation of this; http://www.patentlyapple.com/patently-apple/2013/04/finally-apple-reveals-their-hybrid-notebook-tablet-details.html … - End of conversation
