@monkbent @stratechery Stephenson must think exposing prices will show AT&T's $1600/2yrs as better deal than Apple's $600/n yrs. Good Luck

Carriers love “subsidies” and can’t give up iPhone, but saturation is changing their strategyhttp://stratechery.com/2013/subsidization-saturation/ …

@monkbent@stratechery Apple can also snap up MVNOs across carriers and offer the best reception at any place. => Net positive for AAPL -
@sparky1999 Apple will never be a carrier, MVNO or otherwise -
@monkbent@sparky1999 Why not? Buy an unlocked iPhone/iPad, get a prepaid sim with pricing similar to, eg, Blau. Seems pretty natural.

@monkbent Great post. Rising saturation is changing the basis of competition in the telecom industry. Direct impact on pricing. -
@sameer_singh17 how does the AT&T policy impact pricing, given that it treats every smartphone the same? -
@monkbent I don't think it does. The pricing plan is structured like T-Mobile's -http://www.tech-thoughts.net/2013/12/t-mobile-att-smartphone-pricing-opaque.html … -
@sameer_singh17 no. T-Mobile differs based on phone. AT&T is a flat $15 difference (correct me if I’m wrong) -
@monkbent Don't think so. I sampled a few prices on a chart in that link. -
@sameer_singh17 yep, you’re right. I’ll have to make an update tomorrow -
@monkbent Glad to help.
