@justin @Birdsoft @marcedwards @reneritchie @drbarnard completely agree here. I want to write about the iPad and apps, but a 4th is a lot
@marcedwards my views have evolved a bit since then, but broadly speaking, store policies make tactical sense but hurt iPad in long run

@monkbent Seems to open up space for a pro and/or enthusiast platform, long term. -
@marcedwards yeah -if you have time take a listen to this: http://stratechery.com/2013/podcast-vector-missing-the-ipad-magic … I talk about the dev oppty in the middle I think -
@monkbent It’s cued up to play next already. Will pay attention to the middle section.

@monkbent@marcedwards iPad is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Desktop functionality expectations and Mobile price expectation. -
@FarshadNayeri Also, desktop performance, mobile artificial limitations. +@monkbent -

@marcedwards@monkbent the best software on the iPad is yet to come.

@monkbent@marcedwards big question: what's iPads killer app? Or is this even a valid question? If not, why not? Are there many killer Apps? -
@FarshadNayeri@monkbent@marcedwards I think the idea of a killer app is dead. People want computers in their life for countless reasons. -
@heosat@monkbent@marcedwards or do you mean different people will want different things, this no ONE killer app. -
@FarshadNayeri@monkbent@marcedwards And sure, there will be killer apps for certain niches, but there is unlikely to be a global one. -
@heosat@monkbent@marcedwards so if such category killer Apps exist, why can't they demand $50? Part of this is a self-inflicted by devs. -
@FarshadNayeri@monkbent@marcedwards I expect we will see niche apps continue to increase in price as the trend has been.
