@monkbent It seems like that is something that is really a tablet market observation more than anything else. Look at tablet share of Win8.

@kiggle iPad has grown more slowly than the market as a whole -
@monkbent by shipments, sure, competitors are flooding the market. Why do I still only ever see iPads on airplanes, coffeshops, etc tho? -
@kiggle how many of them are iPad 2's? -
@monkbent most, including mine, but the iPad 2 is still a 'new' product to consumers. My aunt just bought one a few months ago, new to her.

@monkbent Isn’t that partially because the product life cycle shifted from Spring to Fall? -
@pavanrajam partially, but not even close to all -
@monkbent Like you mentioned in your piece, Android is definitely eating away at the low/mid range. Is there anything else? -
@pavanrajam slow replacement on the high end. Lots of people still have iPad 2s -
@monkbent Looks like this study backs that up: http://gigaom.com/2013/10/21/the-ipad-2-is-apples-most-widely-used-tablet-2/ …

@monkbent care to expand? -
@MrSomia iPad started out faster than iPhone, growth has slowed dramatically -
@monkbent that is true, at any other firm however as@parislemon said it’d be their hero product and wouldn’t be compared to the iPhone.
