Obsoletive http://stratechery.com/?p=545  The most revolutionary products - like the iPhone - are not disruptive. They are obsoletive.

@stratechery …inferior to the Nokia N95 - only 2G, no MMS, battery barely lasted a day, maps had no navigation, no apps etc.

@__MarkW__ @stratechery N95 criticized at launch for poor battery life too. N73 & N95 called smartphones w/o full alpha kbd is now funny. :)

@LunaticSX @stratechery Smartphone is a good name for what the N95 was, terrible description of a modern iOS/Android device.

@monkbent @__MarkW__ "Smartphone" definition has changed. iPhone obsoleted the old one. It was GOOD that iPhone didn't fit it!

@LunaticSX @monkbent True, the definition has always been evolving but "phone" is such a tiny part now, was central in 2006.

@monkbent @__MarkW__ Or scifi terms "pocket computer" or "pocket comp"...but scifi characters still usually had separate communicators. :)
