@dannygreg double tap, wait, tap screen, wait. Even someone fast at doing it will probably be 3-4x slower than a back button.

@SteveStreza it’s instantaneous over here. Worth it for the infinitely better UI, reading list, navigation etc.

@dannygreg A single, 0.3s animation is not ever going to be as fast as two animations and three human interactions.

@SteveStreza sure. I’m not arguing that. I presented why I felt it was worth it. If you purely value speed then we have different priorities

@SteveStreza that’s totally fair. Although I would argue that Apple would not use an IAB purely as they choose the better ux over speed.

@dannygreg @SteveStreza Apple’s situation is different. IAB would send a mixed message since the browser is also their product.

@drance @dannygreg @SteveStreza 1) Is Safari not good enough? 2) It’s disorienting and unfocused (re: swiss army knife) 3) Redundant

@drance @dannygreg @SteveStreza Note that sharing is in-app, because it’s a detour, not a departure. Social apps don’t get that, or care.

@drance @dannygreg @SteveStreza normal people IME don't know about double-tap (and I'm sure Apple's has telemetrics that know for sure)
