People in emerging markets like China, etc., had no problem paying $600 for PCs back in the day. 21% CAGR at one point in time there.

@monkbent that segment held growth even with Netbooks in the market.

@BenBajarin @monkbent Isn't China middle class by numbers as big as US? There are a lot of people in China with money.

@haysdb @monkbent we also can not forget that Apple’s biggest roadblock in China is not the apps. It is the way the Chinese want to get apps

@BenBajarin @monkbent How do they want to get apps? If not from the App Store, how does Apple address this?

@haysdb @monkbent how Apple addresses this is the key question. If they don’t then China is just a hardware play and that is not good.

@monkbent @BenBajarin @haysdb Same in India. Most are very paranoid about anyone, even Apple, asking for credit card info over the internet

@HarshilShah1910 @monkbent @haysdb yep very similar. Apple needs ecosystem customers in those regions and price is not the only barrier.

@HarshilShah1910 @monkbent @haysdb Apple is not naive to the nuances of the regions. It is just more difficult than many realize.
