I added a footnote about Motorola. I think it was simply a screwup. http://stratechery.com/2013/understanding-google/#footnote_1_448 …
@chrismlacy my argument is Android is good enough for Google's purposes, so they're focusing on other stuff now

@monkbent I'd suggest you're thinking far too small. Tablets are caught up now, so TV/Watch will likely be next. Then car, fridge, etc. -
@chrismlacy you're saying pretty much the same thing I am, but if you want to believe it's diametrically opposed, go ahead -
@monkbent I'm strongly objecting to your notion (as I perceive it) that Android as a phone OS is largely 'done' in Google's eyes. -
@chrismlacy totally reasonable. I'm objecting to straw-manning my argument and calling me an "iOS commentator" with a small world view :) -
@monkbent if I said 'like many OTHER iOS commentators', then I called you one. Instead I lumped you in with them ;-) - End of conversation

@monkbent@chrismlacy But it isn't. Good enough smartphone still too expensive for billions. Of course they're rumored to be working on that -
@fpgeek@chrismlacy Google is a big company; it's not black and white. However, I think the focus at both IO and this week was clear -
-
@chrismlacy@fpgeek also curious how I am an iOS commentator?
