My Apple TV Prediction http://stratechery.com/?p=372 The conclusion to my series on TV is a pretty specific prediction about WWDC
@kirkburgess I disagree. HD resolution is less than retina iPad.

@monkbent what about the lack of a powerful GPU compared to the A5x/A6x series chips? -
@kirkburgess it is the exact same system-on-a-chip as iPad 3. GPU is fully integrated. -
@monkbent ??? No it's not, the iPad 3 has the dual core A5x with quad core GPU. Apple TV has a far less powerful single core A5. -
@monkbent and here's the March 2013 review where they actually found the single core A5 variant instead: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6834/apple-tv-2013-a1469-short-review-analysis-of-a-new-a5 … -
@kirkburgess thanks. So CPU is slow but GPU can still push pixels. Makes sense for current model, but a problem for apps. Hmm... -
@monkbent there's always an onLive style streaming gaming service - solves both the lack of power and storage problem. -
@monkbent by storage problem, I refer to the fact that the current Apple TV can use up to 7GB of its 8GB storage for caching HD movies. - 2 more replies
