Also, I don't have a Bachelor's degree! You don't have to fit into a prescribed archetype in order to do cool stuff or be successful.

Thank you for the reminder, Ben. I dislike 30u30 lists. Those are more about luck than anything else.

Little secret- more than half of them are paid by their employer to be featured

i spend a lot of time thinking about how many people are in that exact same demo cd situation, except... for them, ftl never comes out. y'know? this lottery-ass society we've built rewards hard work, but only in that it slightly increases your chance of winning the lottery.

(this is not a condemnation of the artist, i love your music ben, you skilled, lucky bastard

At 30, I had worked on 2 AAA games for Sony & 1 VERY successful mod, all in visible roles, & didn't come close to sniffing these lists. They don't matter and you can find great success in
#gamedev without landing a spot on any of them. Just be yourself - Don't stress accolades! -
I think a lot of these lists are way more based on your participation in the social aspects of the community than they really are based on your actual achievements, etc. Still would've loved to be in one, but I'm probably just too introverted to submit myself to everything

Me, who just turned 30, and feels like a nobody, needed this.

As someone who was (and largely still is) a nobody turning 40 next year, it really is nice to know.
