Try it some time, nothing big, just imply they're shitty parents. The result is amazing. They'll lose their ENTIRE shit and turn into shrieking ragebeasts who type barely coherently.

IME, lots of truly awful people are aware that they suck and do their best to ignore that they know it to be true. So when you drop that, you're not only saying "Hey, you suck and your ideas suck and your effect on the world can only be bad", but also "I know your fear."

Lots of truly awful people say "I'm a good person" as a comeback, like saying it means the same as being one. They also tend to use a lot of time for self-affirmations how successful they are

It's almost like they are AWARE of how horrible they are and detrimental to their children? Huh!

I don’t know if it’s awareness so much as usually aggressive narcissism. Narcissists won’t ever take criticism well, especially in parenting, ime.

100% because they view their children as a work they have created, like a sculpture or a painting, not a human who is or will on day be independent of them and form their own thoughts and build their own life. so you're insulting their "opus," as far as they're concerned.
-
Also that's kinda what society asks parents to be towards their children
