And it is, imo, the lack of talking about misogyny/patriarchy that allows a return to traditional marriage to be a plausible solution to our current (very real) sexual woes as a culture.

he does very neatly sidestep the matter of the virulent hatred you see on the subreddits, etc. in a way that is unhelpful - but i also think our essential sex problem is that we treat it too lightly and disposably in a way that women are just as guilty of as men

this may be where our politics diverge, honestly. i mean, i don't disagree that our culture of casual sexual disposibility is sick, but i think that this culture cannot be separated from the system of gender relations in which it emerged.

yeah i think we fundamentally differ here (and i'm aware that i differ from the vast majority of our contemporaries here as well so it's not a surprise, lol)
