The thing I find funny about PV is that is a very strong mitigation but in reality users just click right through it, so what's the point of having a solid mitigation if real life users just disable it?

This is bc PV is huge different than other sandboxes (e.g. Chrome, Edge) - not only it runs in AppContainer, more improbably it disables all the “dynamic” features/functions -making Office *has to* provide a 1-click button for disabling PV & back to use the features.

Yes, it works only when no PV (as related to COM). The thing is if Office PV is a real-world mitigation method, the Office problem would have solved. I consider PV a marketing term from MS.:-)
