Happy to finally share this work!! Proteasomes cluster at the ER, apparently by phase separation. We propose that these clustered proteasomes perform ERAD. They directly engage a specialized patch of the ER membrane and are surrounded by a cloud of Cdc48.

It’s February 3rd in Munich. And it’s raining. Since moving here from California almost a decade ago, sledding 🛷 with my kids has become one of my favorite winter activities. But maybe not this year 😫 ?

Very nice visualization of the last two millennia of global temperature. If you want to travel further back in time, I recommend this great talk from Will Steffen (spoiler-- most of the time, it was 4C colder):

I am looking forward to being "graced by Randy's presence" at 😇. Seriously though, he's really great to talk to about science, career, and life. Thanks for dragging him to the meeting, . With a location like this, I don't think it took much convincing.🌅

The next awesome Complex I shoe 🥾! What an amazingly modular and multifunctional machine. The "big toe" attached to this Photosynthetic Complex I () is a carbonic anhydrase that drives CO2-fixation! Awesome work , , ! 🌍🌿

This is absolutely beautiful visualization 🤩, but I have an issue with the title. To me, "block-face electron microscopy of whole vitreously frozen cells" implies cryo ❄️. However, the the cells were freeze-substituted into epon resin for FIB-SEM. (1/2)
