Would I have thought to make a roguelike loosely based on those little marble mazes you play with as a 5 year old? Well, no. But they did!

I get the strong sense that I'll bounce off, but it's like - as I bounce off, I can feel the deep, rich texture of a thing others will enjoy

I really, really, really like the TumbleSeed gardening mechanic. Like really really really really really. It does neat risk vs reward stuff.

I honest to god feel like anyone in the RL space needs to throw money at TumbleSeed even JUST to get a feel for how that gardening works out

Pry the rest of the game out, it's this neat artifact, but the gardening (and I assume others if I played more)? Those are genre applicable.

Gist is, when you hit a "gardening spot", you've got this huge breadth of choices, INCLUDING creating a fallback/respawn point for yourself.

But do you do it or do you burn the spot to make yourself more badass? Or do you FARM the spot, to be even more badass for later challenges.

And the spots aren't rare. They poop out regularly. So it isn't big spikey life or death choices, it's more a give-and-take playstyle thing.

And you add that to the way you've got a few "lives" - and the value of those depends greatly on your playstyle / gardening choices - v nice

So I'm left with a game that isn't really for me, the rolling thing isn't my jam, but - like. Duuuude. It'll be perfect for other players.

Thanks so much! Those systems took a looooong time to figure out and it's the best feeling when people totally get it
