True enough,
@andymangold. For example, Oxford commas are good for making things correct and readable, bad for use as a murder weapon.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

According to you, my greatest enemy, and my uncle Jim.

Right. Without the Oxford comma, I'm your Uncle Jim.

But in this case, you KNOW you’re not my uncle, but you don’t know if you’re my enemy, so not including the serial comma is actually clearer

I’ll definitely admit that in MOST scenarios using a serial comma removed ambiguity, but it’s not always, so we can’t be dogmatic

*I* know that I'm not your Uncle Jim, but I don't know whether *you* know that. Are you confused? Talking in slang? In code?

Also, if we're talking in-context, I can be about equally sure that I'm not your worst enemy as I am that I'm not your uncle.

And, I most certainly *can* be dogmatic. Especially hyperbolically on the Internet. Lawyers are very good at that sort of thing.
