I've been calling this future creep--when tech advances are subtle and incremental and suddenly you are in the future. When I was a kid, I was transfixed by the giant wall-sized video calls of the Jetsons. One day that arrived, and we barely blinked.

While people are roaming freely on the streets of Mumbai and Manhattan.

But most of the vocals have been poor and no atmosphere - same as TV shows - ok for now but not good enough once we are back to whatever normal is. One area that might change is interviews over video.

I think you and I have very different definitions of "pretty good global pop concert." What is it exactly that you're describing?

The microphones are crap. You can tell the difference compared to the guy using a proper studio mic and an audio mixer. Orders of magnitude better for the listener.
