Amazon isn’t a reach company, like Google or FB, and it’s not making margin from the devices, unlike Apple. It needs to sell things. How does Alexa do that if people only use if for trivia questions, music and kitchen timers? There needs to be a next step 2/

There are some obvious strands for the experimentation - smart home (and perhaps linking to deliveries), or more brand-focused ‘Skills’ to drive sales. We’ll see. But... 5/

The real value is option value (which is similar to Pixel). It’s not what it is now, but what you might be able tor do with it in the future, if Apple/Google do things to make life difficult. The end-point matters more than it did on the desktop and now Amazon has one. /6
