    So the other 3 are each great in their own way but so pleased End of the F’ing world got nominated. Such brilliant writing, acting and aesthetic.

    Like a doorstop novel but wonderfully theatrical, Matthew Lopez’s is so funny, so sad. Loved its ambition and what a great cast. 👌

    So anyway I employ the same buying tactic and after at least 15 minutes buy a male facial wash thing and it cost me just short of a fiver and I used it for the first time today and... it’s just incredibly distinctly average. And that’s why choice isn’t always a good thing.

    And of course it’s 12 times the size of the men’s section. And I’m still like, shit, it’s even worse if you’re a woman. Look at all this choice! How do you choose? It’s like shampoo. Much like wine, I buy the one that’s about a fiver but been reduced...

    And I then make the very male assumption that men’s skincare is an absolute racket and I’m being conned into spending five quid on some fancy soap that’s called facial cleansing wash (or similar) so I make the mistake of going to the women’s skincare section...

    And that’s when I notice this bearded bloke next to me and he’s very discerning choosing his beard grooming products (there’s a whole section for this now beards are cool) and he clearly cares about beard dandruff but he seems to know what he’s actually buying & I’m envious...

    If it opens up my pores surely the grease and dirt of the world is going to have even more chance to get through my epidermis. So I’m confused and staring at all these products clueless and thinking I might as well shut my eyes and pick one...

    And they know full well I have no clue because they’re all at least five quid and it’s tea tree or jojoba or something else from the rain forest and I’m like - I just don’t want greasy skin. And they’re offering to open my pores up but then I think hang on a minute...

    I went into Boots at the weekend and I find it just a mystifying experience. You want something to wash your face in and clean your pores or wherever that’s not just soap and there’s these endless facial skincare products for men now and I have no clue...
