Update: Apparently this was the house where they arrested three men involved in the shooting. Glad to know they tracked them down so quickly.

Hearing from Paul Bass that they might have found one of the vehicles in FairHaven so possible that’s why PD is back to business as usual. Can the city please act like this is a problem and can the Mayor please confront this serious issue happening under his watch.

Currently at corner of Putnam and Leeder Hill in Hamden where a detective squad seems to be involved in a casual exercise at a home. 15 police chatting on lawn. 3 New Haven squad cars just pulled up without lights on. No Hamden PD on site though one just rolled by and moved on.

We need to change how we think about police resources. No more traffic stops. More detective work and attention to violent crime. And we need a Mayor that is comfortable speaking to the rise in crime in his town and takes personal accountability. I’m angry this morning.

Meanwhile Mayor hosting an unrelated press conference while nearby an officer does routine traffic stop. Why weren’t all vehicles deployed to find the shooter? Why isn’t the Mayor speaking out immediately about schools having to lockdown for drivebys in his own hood 2x in a mnth

2 hours later and there is no sign of police looking for the vehicle in the surrounding neighborhoods. Have been driving around myself to see if I see it as they are usually dumped nearby.

To add to this: Three weeks ago our kids sheltered in place for an hour at Foote as shots were fired out front in a similar event on Highland that proceeded through the city into Hamden.

Just watched a man pull a pistol and fire three shots from the passenger side of a pursuing vehicle in a shootout at Whitney and Edwards. Shoot-out continued throughout the neighborhood. Watch out for fully tinted black Explorer in East Rock area.
