    5/7 4️⃣ Some are saying all of this is proof we need to invest even more in fossil fuels! Fossil fuel executives and many politicians are now actually lobbying for more drilling, mining, & fossil fuel investment, even though that’s what led to this crisis in the first place.

    4/7 3️⃣ Our fossil fuel addiction is funding this war. Russia is a major exporter of fossil fuels. Europe gets 40% of its gas from Russia and is pumping up to $880 million per day into Putin’s government — money that he uses to fund the war.

    3/7 2️⃣ Rising oil & gas prices are dragging down the global economy. The world was just staggering back from the pandemic recession when the war in Ukraine began, raising concerns about inflation, supply chain, & food security. Rising oil & gas prices are making it all worse.

    2/7 1️⃣ Oil and gas prices are skyrocketing. Oil prices have spiked since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, hitting the world’s poorest people hardest, people who might have already been struggling to buy gas for their commute or oil to heat their homes.
