Most genres of music try to describe feelings whereas Rap/hip hop seem to try to describe a state of mind. Is it the only genre like this? It’s distinctly aspirational

The number of Alexa enabled products amazon produces is actually insane. Every time I go on there I feel like they’ve announced something new.

China does NOT mess around.... there are some benefits to a single-party government with access to unilateral decision making power. Namely, expedience.

Watching this Elizabeth - Bernie dynamic is upsetting. We have big problems to solve and both want to solve them. I’m sure that’s where they would want our attention focused too.

Train rolling through Maeklong Railway Market, Bangkok. Six times a day the market adjusts itself and encapsulates the train as it passes. Awnings are pulled back, fruit and vegetable baskets shifted just enough not to be sliced by the wheels.

Bloomberg, master of business insights, spends a disproportionate amount of money on tv add... $178 million on broadcast/cable tv ads $22 million on digital. The field average*** is 75/25. He spends ~90/10. What’s he know?

Of the *expected* $6 Billion spent on federal election campaigns in 2020, over 75% of it will be spent on tv or radio ads. Who do you know who regularly watches cable tv and listens to the radio? The same people that talk to pollsters on the phone?

There is cellular-polling, which is much much harder to do location-based polling for*, but that’s 6% too. *i have a Chicago number, am often in Houston, but vote in SF. Compare to a landline which inherently defines your voting district.

“Pollsters could only complete interviews with 6% of households in their sample” In 1997 it was 37%. Two sources of Selection bias: 1: people who have landlines 2: someone who humors a pollster

This is also a possible explanation why people like klobuchar poll well despite being non-existent in every other conversation ever &&& why a youth-friendly candidate like Yang polls so low despite a ton of online presence.
