I think Netflix recently added a second setting. I’d previously turned off ‘autoplay’, but there’s now a new one for previews.

I'm often told that men have instincts to protect their family and how Protector is their natural role. I think the case can be more easily made that men have zero natural instincts to protect their family. 22/

Eating less meat is nearly always better for your carbon footprint than eating the 'most sustainable' meat. The ‘worst' peas, beans, tofu and nuts still have a lower footprint than the ‘best’ meat and dairy. Latest article:

In 2012, Belgium’s bike trip mode share was 22%. They wanted to get it to 35% by 2030. Thru creative, decisive action, they reached 35% by 2019, in 7 years, 11 YEARS EARLY! tells the story that I learned working there last year.

I think it is worth repeating it... "People will drive, even when they know they will be stuck in traffic they will drive. They won't drive if they know they won't have a place to park. That shows you the power of parking." From

Apple and Android keyboards should have ₂ as a standard button so that we can all write CO₂ correctly as a matter of routine. Please share for wider sample.

Please, put a subscript 2 on your standard keyboards so that informed, educated but busy people can write CO₂ in the anthropocene without clunky workarounds. I include this tweet as an example of a good tweet with bad chemical notation.

I propose we rename Google messaging services with the year of release, just like a copy of Madden or FIFA. The provides for easier tracking and better communicates the ~yearly lifecycle of these apps.

If we can spend 1.5b on a single junction in Bedford to speed up car journeys, surely we can invest the same to give a whole City Region the option not to drive. As the PM said whilst Mayor about his cycling network “I only wish I’d done it sooner”

DID YOU KNOW THAT IN PARIS, instead of continuing to incentivize driving, Parisians get new incentives for e-bikes, cargo-bikes, bikeshare memberships, & the big one — for ditiching their personal cars. Smart financial policy. Via

3/The success of iPhone (140K apps & 3B downloads announced that day) blinded us at Microsoft as to where Apple was heading. Endless rumors of Apple’s tablet *obviously* meant a pen computer based on Mac. Why not? The industry chased this for 20 years. That was our context.

1/The announcement 10 years ago today of the "magical" iPad was clearly a milestone in computing. It was billed to be the “next” computer. For me, managing Windows, just weeks after the launch of Microsoft’s "latest creation" Windows 7, it was a as much a challenge as magical.

“The 15-minute city would offer quality of life within short distances. The denser cities of the near future—& not just —will require turning streets into spaces of carbon-free mobility by walking or cycling, & reinventing new hyper-proximities.”

As in, it’s literally worth paying for! Even for purely selfish reasons of preserving your own humanity. To decrease the cognitive dissonance of thinking of yourself as a good person while living in and sustaining a sick society.

The personal mental benefit of being a well-to-do member of a basically functioning society where people aren’t forced to beg in public for medical care, slave in servitude for decades to pay for education, or rot behind bars in the world’s biggest prison population is immense.
