I met with Chilean President Sebastian Pińera and welcomed the opening of a direct route from Santiago to Israel. We agreed that we would work together to advance direct flights to Israel via Africa, thus shortening travel time. We also discussed deepening bilateral trade links.

Groovy! I’m no longer in Congress but my bills live on! We almost passed my pro-Israel bill. I passed it easily in the House. One Senator blocked it from being heard. Now will push it thru! Hurrah!

Cong. Johnson’s comparison of to Hitler is dangerous, disgusting & shows a shocking level of ignorance about the Holocaust. No one should ever exploit (for political messaging or otherwise) the 6 million Jews slaughtered during the Holocaust.

Interesting point about the initial PLO charter, in 1965 the borders of Palestine specifically didn't include Gaza or the west bank as Gaza was illegally occupied by the Egyptians and the WB was illegally occupied by Jordan, AFTER 1967 the PLO included these in Palestine.

In 1980, Daniel Patrick Moynihan said that the GOP was now "the party of ideas." That's over. When it came time to shout back at the mob, too many conservative intellectuals lost their nerve and signed on for what they thought was a survivable detour. They were wrong. /10

So now you have a new alignment on the right: Elite professors and heirs like Hanson and Carlson, trying to find a new home among people who were never part of their intended audience. It's even weirder and less natural than the NeverTrump/liberal coalition. /7

The other thing that happened is that Trump proved to be every bit as bad as we warned he would be. And for the pro-Trump intellectuals, who had doubled down over and over in the vain hope he would recover, this was more humiliating than anything we Never Trumpers could say. /5

There were 3 roads for the Jewish people: Mass Assimilation (voluntary genocide) Bundism (a naive notion that burnt in Auschwitz) Zionism (self determination) The Jews opted for survival, for . It is difficult to see how anti-Zionism is not an anti-Jewish position

wouldn’t it be much more constructive to stop focusing on divisive racial categories (invented by racists) and address poverty &marginalization irrespective of the skin tone/"race" of the person held back by it? 5/7

IMO one can make a good case that the divisiveness implicit in the talk about “white privilege” is a major reason Trump is your president. Instead of insisting that everyone who qualifies as “white” enjoys “white privilege” no matter how miserable their circumstances may be, 4/7
