Indeed, the fact that Krasikov wore a Vympel/FSB branded t-shirt 10 years ago is not stand-alone proof that the murder was organized by the FSB. However, it adds even one more straw to the overwhelming, holistic haystack of evidence showing namely that link.

As we reported in our ground-breaking investigation, in the weeks before the murder, Krasikov was a frequent visitor to the Center for Special Operations outside Moscow. That facility is the home-base of the FSB's Vympel and Alfa Spetsnaz units.pic.twitter.com/F8L6jezOVM

While the emblem, not clearly legible, might be one of a number of different FSB-linked units, it's closest match is the FSB's Special Operations Center. The lettering numbers and spacing matches.pic.twitter.com/3RZnujfyqL

The evidence gathered by Bellingcat has been used in the Berlin trial, and plays a major role in identifying the suspect and connecting him to the Russian intelligence services. A guilty verdict that accepts this evidence would be highly significant, both in Germany and elsewhere
