Like to ride my bike and tilt at windmills. YIMBY hoping for a return to 17-19th century urbanism but with more trees and less cholera.

To Americans, there is nothing quite as shocking as seeing a parking space for sale at a price that would cover the cost of building it.

Yesterday: 3.700 people died, 40.000-80.000 severely injured. Not , just daily traffic. Today again, tomorrow again, and the day after.... This just one of many stories:

These days I'm looking at what alleges to be Christianity in much of my country and I'm now almost certain that I was wrong about myself all along. Maybe I'm not a Christian after all.

"The automobile has dissolved the living tissue of the city. Its appetite for space is absolutely insatiable; moving & parked, it devours urban land, leaving buildings as mere islands of habitable space in a sea of dangerous & ugly traffic." —James Marston Fitch, NY Times, 1960.

Police issued 35,000+ moving violation tickets to cyclists — who make up ~1% of traffic, and caused 2 deaths last year — while they issued 34,593 tickets to truck drivers — who represent 10% of traffic, yet caused 43 of the 220 road deaths last year.

"Any legislator can prattle on about...California’s housing crisis. But how many have the courage to do something about it?" Now's the time to say YES to , YES to more housing, and YES to a future where people can afford to call California home!

⁩ Beautiful, temperate, progressive California should have the lowest rate of vulnerable road user deaths in the nation and be the national leader in . Instead we are one of the worst in the nation. How is this acceptable?

Automobiles kill 95K (blunt force trauma & PM) and injure 2.24 million *every year*. For perspective that’s like an annual bomb wiping out a small to medium American city and injuring everyone in the state of Oregon every two years. is self defense.

NIMBYs are going to low income neighborhoods & painting YIMBYs as entitled, white gentrifiers. Let me repeat; older, rich white homeowners are going to black & brown neighborhoods & telling them young, poorer white people are the issue. Well this BLACK YIMBY says enough w/the BS!

ESPN is always on in the break room, and I'm starting to understand the *mind-boggling* amnt of money spent on truck ads. These are not things humans are naturally inclined to desire. We need to ban car ads for the same reasons we banned smoking ads.
