    The framing of adoption narratives in major news outlets needs a re-work. There have never been "good old days" in the history of private adoption in the US, only variations on the theme of exploitation and coercion. activists seeking reform are not the enemy.

    An anti-adoption movement is thriving online. Prospective adoptive parents are referred to as “vultures trolling the net for babies.”

    I made a commitment to myself several years ago that I would not remove “PASS THE ADOPTEE CITIZENSHIP ACT” from my display name until the day it’s finally passed through Congress and signed into law. Rep. , I urge you to co-sponsor this critical legislation.

    Imagine growing up thinking you’re a U.S. citizen only to wake up one day and find out that you’re not. And there's nothing you can do about it. We applaud and for taking action on a congressional oversight made years ago.

    I once interviewed a dozen women who were coerced into relinquishing their babies plus a nonprofit that helped hundreds more plus someone who worked in the industry and saw it happen. That story was rejected over 50x. But shovel this shit about adoptees and your front page news.

    The gaslighting of adoptees' valid issues and concerns in this article is way off the charts. Adoption hurts families. But the problem in stating that truth is that it breaks the sacred saviour narrative.
