If you want things to change, then act to make that change. Actions to protect or secure adoptee rights needed in the US Congress as well as in Rhode Island, Iowa, and Arizona, plus more about what's happening in other states. Cat approved, human required

one day we will write stories about bills passing (or not) from the perspective of the people they will help (or not) and not from the perspective of whichever party or politician they are a “win” (or not) for

The framing of adoption narratives in major news outlets needs a re-work. There have never been "good old days" in the history of private adoption in the US, only variations on the theme of exploitation and coercion. activists seeking reform are not the enemy.

  8. I made a commitment to myself several years ago that I would not remove “PASS THE ADOPTEE CITIZENSHIP ACT” from my display name until the day it’s finally passed through Congress and signed into law. Rep. , I urge you to co-sponsor this critical legislation.

I was a child who was adopted internationally and had to get my citizenship later in life. Please, support this bill and thank you from a Seattle resident!

Imagine growing up thinking you’re a U.S. citizen only to wake up one day and find out that you’re not. And there's nothing you can do about it. We applaud and for taking action on a congressional oversight made years ago.

Adoption is racist, sexist, ableist, anti-LGBTQIA and poverty predatory. And yet Wired wants to promote this article without using own voices. Yet, outside of the adoption community you get to ignore how much adoption absorbs social ills.
