I enjoyed so much last year, I doubled down this year - I’ll be giving a workshop and kicking off the main stage talks (see thread). The lineup 👇🏻 is full of really excellent humans who care deeply about advancing your practice and the discipline

What’s the best non-WeWork space to work late in on weekends? Thinking of something like , but open till 11 (or 24/7) if you have a key. Happy for members-only spaces. Ideally has desks and conference rooms. Relevant tags: , , etc.

I've never had more fun looking at participation compensation rates. Nice work & ! On a serious note, is useful for estimates. (Consult a local expert and be aware of social & cultural norms when you're working in a new environment).

Part of this is social convention and a lot of this changed thanks to Twitter, but I've seen & appreciated the ability to DM someone in a social Slack or on Discord and say "Thank you for the feedback. It helped with..." and get a short reply or reacji. Low friction, high reward!

I remember how much I would agonize over sending "thank you" emails as a student to speakers who responded to a question at a Q&A or event, and how formal email itself felt to do something like say thank you. Some of this was easier on forums, but it was rarely on *mobile.*

One of the most interesting behavior changes I’ve noticed from 10+ years ago w/the increase in social chat spaces (Discord, Slack, Telegram groups, etc) is how much friendlier and lightweight it is to send a note/thank you, etc to someone you respect for their feedback or help.

I think that having people run their own studies can be incredibly powerful for a few reasons: 1. Allows researchers to focus on projects where they are uniquely valuable 2. Forces researchers to realize you can scale without hiring (continued below)

Friday, you’ll start your day with me, talking about why so many people are squandering the opportunity research has to transform organizations, and, more importantly, how we can fix that!
